Harold D. Rumbarger

Harold D. Rumbarger, 64, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Monday, Sept. 14, 2026 after a long battle with dementia.

Born March 7, 1962, Harold lived all his life in Kittanning, graduating in 1980 from Kittanning High School. He was a fix it himself kind of guy, learning much of his handyman knowledge while employed by Louden Supply Co. from 1980 until they closed their doors in 2005. From there he found his way across the road to Bradigan's and Son Heating and A/C Division until his departure in 2018.

Harold was an avid golfer, he loved fishing, hunting, side by side adventures, beach trips to the Outer Banks or Emerald Isle along with listening to his favorite 80's music. Above all he loved his Black n' Gold Pittsburgh Steelers. Always wearing one of his many Steeler attire, especially on game day during watch parties with family and friends.

Harold is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 40 years, Rose "Sis" Rumbarger; two sons, Tyler ("Bekah") Rumbarger of McGrann and Dalton (Ashley) Rumbarger of Kittanning; and grandchildren, Kiah, Noah, Poppy, and Baby Boy due in February of 2027.

His memory will also be cherished by his sisters, Molly (John) Palermo and Julie (Mike) Stitt all of Kittanning; mother-in-law, Rose Close of Kittanning; and brothers-in-law, Joe (Susan) Close of Worthington, Rich Close of Bessemer, and Dan (Cathy) Close of Sarver; and nieces and nephews, Heather, Nicole, Dominic, Emily, Kylie, Owen, Samantha, and Joey.

Harold is preceded in death by his mother, Jon A. Rumbarger, father-in-law Thomas Close; paternal grandparents, Dale and Mildred Rumbarger and maternal grandparents Jack and Maryalda Buzard; and a nephew, Jerad Close.

Harold's battle with dementia started eight years ago but really gained momentum in June of 2026. The family would like to thank Ken and Paula Grey of Grey's Colonial Acres along with the staff for their kindness and care during his brief stay. Also, thank you to Monarch Hospice for stepping in so quickly to help keep him comfortable during this difficult journey. And lastly to his home caregivers Joan and Paula without your support keeping him home for as long as we did would not have been possible.

Friends and family will be received from 4 PM to 7 PM on Wednesday, Sept. 16, 2026, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Contributions may be made in Harold's memory to Orphans of the Storm, PO Box 838, Kittanning, PA 16201.
