Emily Elizabeth Thompson

Emily Elizabeth Thompson, 36, of Kittanning, formerly of Freeport, PA passed away Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026.

Born on Sept. 2, 1990 in Williamsport, PA, she was the only child of Mark D. and Elizabeth (Costantino) Thompson.

Emily graduated from Freeport High School in 2009, where she ran track and was the goalie on the Freeport High School girls' soccer team. She went on to graduate from Edinboro University in 2013 with a degree in Psychology, with an emphasis in Neuroscience, and later earned her Master's Degree from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Emily and her husband, Jeremy, lived in Colorado for six years, where they developed a deep love for the outdoors. Together, they enjoyed camping and practicing yoga, ran multiple half marathons, and climbed many of Colorado's 14,000-foot peaks.

Emily enjoyed crafting and cherished her dogs, Wilson, Popcorn and especially, Jackson.

Those who knew and loved Emily each describe her in their own special way. Her parents say she could light up a room the moment she entered. Her husband says Emily was the kindest person he ever met, and her friends will tell you that she was the funniest person they knew. Emily was a beautiful presence in the lives of those around her and will be deeply missed and forever cherished by her family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing her.

Left to cherish her memory are her loving parents, Mark and Elizabeth Thompson of Freeport; and her adoring husband, Jeremy E. Boltin whom she married on Oct. 26, 2022 in Bailey, Colorado.

Emily is also survived by her in-laws, Gerald and Linda Boltin of Chicago, IL; six sisters-in-law, Blythe (Dave) Graft of Greensburg, PA; Nadia (Don) Viken, April (Brian) Swayka, Marisa (Rick) Knipfer, Madeline (Brian) Boltin, and Chloe Boltin all of Chicago, IL; and her aunts, Cynthia Thompson and Joe "Ping" Turkovic of Freeport, Cheryl Thompson, Sue (Richard) Bowser all of Freeport, Becky Broderick and Jeff Fender of Pittsburgh; numerous cousins and many friends.

Emily was preceded in death by her loving cousin, Jerry Broderick; her paternal grandparents, Shirley and Charles D. Thompson, Jr.; and her maternal grandparents, John S. and Clare Costantino.

Friends and family will be received from 6 - 9 pm on Friday, Sept. 11, 2026 at the Dennis J. Daugherty Funeral Home, 324 Fourth St, Freeport, PA 16229.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Saturday, Sept. 12. 2026 at St. Mary Mother of God Parish, 608 High St., Freeport, PA 16229 with The Very Reverend Eric J. Dinga, V.F. as celebrant. Everyone is to please meet at church.

A private interment will be held in St. Mary Cemetery, Freeport, PA.
