Earl R. Milligan, III

Earl R Milligan, III, 68, of Dayton, PA, passed away on Monday, Sept. 29, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, PA.

He was born Oct. 18, 1956 in Kittanning, PA; the son of Geraldine Ann (Walsh) and Earl Ray Milligan, Jr.

Earl was a 1974 graduate of Worthington High School. He grew up in the Worthington area before making his home in Dayton, where he spent the past 30 years. Earl was a member of St. Mary, Mother of God Church in Yatesboro. He worked in various machine shops for 20 years.

Earl had a talent for woodworking and lovingly crafted star ornaments for the children at Dayton Elementary School, as well as star ornaments and wooden crosses for Divine Redeemer. He also enjoyed gardening and farming, and even liked hauling manure. Most of all, Earl cherished his family, who were always his greatest priority.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Suzanne D. (McMillen) Milligan whom he married on May 23, 1992; son, Joshua E. Milligan and wife Adrienne of Arden, NC; grandsons, Asher J. Milligan and Caiman R. Milligan.

He is also survived by his sister, Marycarole Dixon of Pittsburgh; and nephews, Joshua Dixon and wife Elizabeth, Jeremy Dixon and wife Hannah, and Alex Dixon and fiancée Leah; numerous great-nieces and nephews; as well as his extended family gained through his marriage to Suzanne, all of whom held a special place in his heart.

Earl was preceded in death by his parents; and his sister, Susan M. Milligan who passed away on March 2, 2015.

Friends and family will be received from 4 - 8 PM on Thursday, Oct, 2, 2025 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home, Inc., 125 E. Main St., Dayton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 9 - 10:00 AM on Friday, Oct. 3, 2025 at the Bauer-Bly Funeral Home when Rev. Barry Rittenour will share words of comfort and prayer.

A Funeral Mass will follow at 11 AM at St. Mary, Mother of God Church, 109 2nd St, Yatesboro, PA 16263, with the Father Madhu Kodavatikanti as celebrant.

Interment will be in Franklin Union Baptist Cemetery in Worthington, PA.

Contributions may be made in Earl's memory to a charity of one's choice.
