Dennis J. McKissick

Dennis J. McKissick 74, of Callensburg, PA, passed away on Sunday, Nov. 1, 2026 at Shippenville Nursing and Rehab.

He was born on Jan. 4, 1952 in Oil City, PA, the son of James and Dorothy (Graybill) McKissick.

Dennis was a 1971 graduate of Oil City High School. He previously attended Rimersburg Methodist Church and most recently attended Mt. Hope Church of Conneration in Parker. Dennis worked for Walmart for over 20 years and also served as the church custodian at Rimersburg Methodist Church for 28 years. He had a deep love of history and enjoyed biblical topics

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Sheila D. (Patterson) McKissick whom he married in 1990; his sons, Cory D. (Karisa) McKissick of Emlenton and Jeremy S. Cornell of Danbury, NH; grandchildren, Katelynn Cornell, Andrew Cornell, Kaden Davis, Liem Davis, and Ava McKissick; and his sisters, Diana (Wilbur) Lewis of Knox, Deb McKissick of Leeper, Carolyn Jean (Pete) Knight of Knox, and Patricia Rae McKissick of Oil City

Dennis is also survived by his Uncle Ken (Harlean) Graybill of Fisher; nieces and nephews, Tracy Louise McKissick, Jeremy Patterson, Jessica Lemmon, Jolene Mrozek, Devin Patterson and, Merissa McKinney; his brother-in-law, Randy (Sandra) Patterson of Sligo; and Sheila's aunt Betty Craig of Rimersburg.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents; his sons, Shawn McKissick and Cody McKissick; daughter, Mindy McKissick; and a brother-in-law, Tim Patterson.

A memorial service to honor Dennis and Cody McKissick will be held at 2 PM on Saturday, Nov. 21, 2026 at Mt. Hope Church of Conneration, 372 Church Rd, Parker, PA with Rev. Bill Davis officiating. A luncheon will follow.
