William F. "Willy" Sherry
William F. "Willy" Sherry, 65, of Kittanning, PA passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025 at ACMH in Kittanning, PA.He was born on Aug. 15, 1960 in Ridgway, PA; the son of Don A. and Margaret (Patterson) Sherry.
Willy was a highly skilled and talented monument engraver whose craftsmanship left a lasting mark across Western Pennsylvania. His work includes numerous war memorials, commemorative bricks at PNC Park, and the Fallen Officers Memorial at Heinz Field. Throughout his career, he partnered with many funeral homes and monument companies, and his artistry is represented on thousands of memorials that honor and preserve the stories of others.
He attended Walkchalk Salem Baptist Church in Kittanning and was a proud member of the NRA, the Ford City Sportsman's Club, the Pony Farm Sportsman Club, and the Amateur Trapshooting Association. Willy could often be found displaying his metallic blue, 1967 Plymouth Sport Fury, at local car cruises. He found great joy in shooting trap, fishing with his grandson, Nash, snowmobiling and gardening with his son, Levi, vacationing and working around the barn with his daughter, Nastacia and spending time with family and friends, at his camp along the Allegheny River in Mosgrove.
Willy will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his kind heart, quick wit, and unforgettable storytelling.
His memory will be treasured by his son, Levi S. Sherry of Kittanning; daughter, Nastacia McGregor and husband, Richard of West Sunbury; and grandson, Nash McGregor.
He will also be missed by his brother, Donald Sherry and wife, Kay of Emporium; sisters, Carol Wall of Baltimore, MD, Jeanne Oertly and husband, Theodore of Ridgway, PA, Mae Funkhouser and husband, Ralph of Kittanning, Susan Mierzwa and husband, Frank of Cary, NC; a sister-in-law, Joyce Sherry of Kittanning, PA.; many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; and the mother of his children Cindy Mitchell.
Willy was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Robert Sherry.
Family and friends will be received from 2 - 4 PM and 6 - 8 PM on Monday, Dec. 8, 2025 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 North McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.
Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2025 at Walkchalk Salem Baptist Church, 1006 Butler Rd., Kittanning, PA with Rev. Mike Bowser officiating.
Interment will be in Cochran Cemetery, Templeton, PA.
