Thomas Clinton Stitt

Thomas Clinton Stitt, 79, of Kittanning, PA, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023 at his home.

He was born on April 18, 1944 in Kittanning, PA, the son of Edwin Clinton and Mary (Runyan) Stitt.

Thomas was a 1962 graduate of Kittanning High School and earned his Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering for Penn State University. He owned and operated Air-Lert. He engineered safety technologies for the coal mining industry. Thomas was a 50 year cancer survivor. His true loves were his family, farming and flying.

His memory will be cherished by loving wife, Sue Ann (Wible) Stitt; son, Marshall Thomas Stitt and wife Paula of Kittanning; daughters, Joanne Stitt Watts of Proctorville, WV, Carol Stitt of Findlay, OH, and Emily Rios and husband Daniel of Portland, OR; and grandchildren, Clayton Thomas Watts, Lauren Elizabeth Watts, Edwin Thomas Stitt, and Elsie Marie Stitt.

Thomas is also survived by his brothers, James Stitt and wife Florence of Greensburg, PA, Robert Stitt and wife Sue of Elderton, PA, William Stitt and wife Loretta of Crown City, OH and his sisters, Mary Eleanor Arbuckle and husband Dale of Indiana, PA and Martha Finton and husband Abe of Meadville, PA.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received from 3 - 7 PM on Friday, Nov. 3, 2023 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of funeral services at 12 PM on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2023 at Salem United Church of Christ, 316 Hills Church Rd., Kittanning, PA 16201 with Rev. Todd Marino officiating.

Interment will be in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery in Kittanning, PA.
