Peggy Ruth Lukehart

Peggy Ruth Lukehart, of Shelocta, PA, passed away on Wednesday, April 10, 2024 at her home.

She was born on Feb. 12, 1932 in South Bend Twp., PA; the last surviving child of Eric Ivan and Myrtle Lemoyne (McGaughey) Silvis.

Peggy was a member of St. Jacobs United Church of Christ. Along with her husband Merle, she cleaned Elderton State Bank for many years. Peggy enjoyed crafting, crocheting and taking care of her family.

Her memory will be cherished by her sons, Randy D. Lukehart and wife Jacque of Ford City, Ronald M. Lukehart and wife Carol of Ford City, and Robert Lukehart and wife Joy of Shelocta.

Peggy will also be missed by her grandchildren, Ben Lukehart and wife Lane of Shelocta and their children Austin, Mason and Hayden; Adam Lukehart and wife Tia of Ford City and their son Isaac; Greg Calhoun and wife Heather of Dayton; Wade Calhoun and wife Paulina of Kittanning; Melissa Lukehart George and husband David of Shelocta and their children Lexi, Ty and Alimae; Danielle Lukehart Eshbaugh and husband Kevin of Ford City and their children Kohlt, Deklyn, Miranda, and Jolee; Nicki Taylor and husband Ryan of Pittsburgh and their children Maeverie and Beckham; and Brian Lukehart and wife Crissy of Shelocta and their sons Waylon and Liam.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 72 years, Merle E. Lukehart, whom she married on Dec. 29, 1951 and who passed away on Jan. 9, 2024; grandson, Nathan Lee Lukehart; great-grandson, Brody Lukehart; and her siblings, Guy Silvis, Don Silvis, Nancy Silvis Clark, Edna Silvis Girt, Nettie Silvis Rearick, Helen Silvis Rearick, William Silvis, Glenn Silvis, Steele Silvis, Mabel Silvis Tressler, Jack Silvis, and Robert Silvis.

Family and friends will gather from 1 PM on Sunday, April 14, 2024 until the time of the memorial service at 2 PM at the Clark Chapel of Bauer Funeral Home, Inc. of 238 South Main Street, Elderton, PA with Rev. Doug Johnson officiating.

Interment will be in South Bend Cemetery, Shelocta, PA.
