Ray C. "Doc" Claypoole, Jr.

Ray C. "Doc" Claypoole, Jr., 82, of Worthington, PA, passed away on Thursday, April 4, 2024 at AHN Wexford Hospital.

He was born on Oct. 23, 1941 in Kittanning, PA; the son of Margaret A. (Shields) and Ray C. Claypoole, Sr.

Doc was living his dream as a dairy farmer. He dedicated his life to raising and breeding Holstein Cattle and also had a love for Black Angus Cattle. As much as he was a cowman, Doc was also a proud crop man, ensuring that Clayholm Farms thrived under his care. Throughout his days, he was never without his faithful Dalmatian "Ta" at his side. Together, they worked with unwavering dedication that he passes on to his family. Clayholm Farms was more than just a livelihood to Doc; it was his life's work, his passion, and his legacy.

His memory will be cherished by his daughter, Tammy (Scott) Crissman of Worthington; his sons, Roy (Rebecca) Claypoole of Kittanning and Leland (Margaret) Claypoole of Worthington; grandchildren, Tyler (Jessica) Crissman, Hannah Crissman, Derek Crissman, Korbin Claypoole, Isabella Claypoole, and Kiyah Claypoole, and Aiden Claypoole, Mackenzie Claypoole, and Lily Claypoole; great-grandchild, Bennett Crissman; brother, Mervin D. Claypoole of Worthington; and a special nephew, Scott "Shorty" Hepler.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his loving wife, Shirley Mae (Smith) Claypoole, whom he married on Oct. 19, 1979 and who passed away on Nov. 14, 2023; grandchildren, Cameron Crissman and Silas Claypoole; and sisters, Joanne M. Hepler and Virginia L. Alese.

Friends and family will be received from 2 - 4 PM and 7 - 9 PM on Sunday, April 7, 2024, at the Bauer Funeral Home, 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of services at 11 AM on Monday, April 8, 2024 at Franklin Union Baptist Church, 106 Century Hill Lane, Worthington, PA 16262 with Rev. Robert F. Hindman officiating.

Interment will be in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, PA.

Rest easy Doc, you've done your chores here on earth; it's time to milk a few head of cattle in heaven
