Eugene S. "Gene" Capizzi

Eugene S. "Gene" Capizzi, 81, of Ford City, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 18, 2023, at Kittanning Care Center.

He was born January 5, 1942, in Kittanning, PA to Edward A. "Dewey" and Katherine E. (Ferari) Capizzi.

Gene graduated from Ford City High School and Indiana University of PA., where he received a Bachelor's Degree in chemistry. He was a research chemist and specialized in developing oil lubricants for machinery and industrial cleaning and household products. He worked for various companies including Quaker State, Ashland Oil, and Chrysler Chemical.

Eugene enjoyed golfing and playing chess.

He is survived by his grandchildren, Aiden and Lily Wolf; brother, Joseph Capizzi and sister, Eileen Capizzi. Gene was loved by his family and he will never be forgotten.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Margaruite L. (Eddinger) Capizzi, who he married on Nov. 23, 1969 and who passed away on May 10, 2016; his daughter, Gina M. Wolf; brother, Edward Capizzi; and sister, Gloria Capizzi Koch.

Gene's family would like to thank the staff and nurses at the Kittanning Care Center for their exceptional care.

Private arrangements are being handled by Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc.

Interment will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Ford City, PA.
