Elvera "Vera" Zamperini

Elvera "Vera" Zamperini, 97, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Monday, September 20, 2021 at Heritage Meadows Personal Care Home.

She was born October 30, 1923 in Kittanning, PA, the daughter of Leo and Frances (Mechellini) Mattei.

Vera was a lifetime resident of Western Pennsylvania and was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Roman Catholic Church. She loved caring for her family and will be best remembered for her pleasant smile and giving a warm "Hello" to everyone she met.

She will be greatly missed by her son, Richard Louis Zamperini and wife, Michele, of Connellsville, PA; daughter, Gail Denison and husband, Duane, of Annapolis, MD; grandchildren, Amber Denison Sheehan, Ashley Denison Morales, Gianna Zamperini, and Breadon Zamperini; and great-grandchildren, Ava and Dominic Sheehan, and Adam and Alex Morales.

Vera was preceded in death by her loving husband of 55 years, Arthur Zamperini, on September 13, 2001; and her three sisters, Genevieve Swigart, Josephine Zamperini, and Della Mechling.

The family will receive friends from 6-9 PM on Thursday, Sept. 23, 2021 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10 AM on Friday, Sept. 24, 2021 at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, with Rev. Ronald J. Maquinana as celebrant.

Interment will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
