Charlotte R. Yount

Charlotte R. Yount, 94, of Kittanning, PA, formerly of Plumcreek Twp., PA, passed away Saturday, April 15, 2017 at Kittanning Care Center.

She was born May 11, 1922 in Heverly, PA, the daughter of Howard L. and Margaret (Rice) Erdley.

Charlotte was a long-time resident of Plumcreek Twp. until moving to Balcony Towers in Kittanning in 2010. In 1999, she retired from Grey's Colonial Acres, where she worked for 13 years as a cook; she previously worked at Big River Manufacturing for 18 years. Charlotte was a former member of Grace Independent Baptist Church in Shelocta and a current member of Montgomeryville Baptist Church in Adrian. She always made time to read her bible and her favorite hobbies included cooking, crocheting and planting flowers. Above all, Charlotte cherished spending time with her family who loved her dearly.

She is survived by her children, Virginia Jamieson and husband, Gary, of Kittanning, Margie Zimmerman and husband, John, of Adrian, and Wayne Yount and wife, Carla, of Rural Valley; six granddaughters; eight great-grandsons; five great-granddaughters; and one great-great-granddaughter.

Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, W. Clair Yount, whom she married December 2, 1938 and who died February 25, 2002; son, Ray Yount; brothers, James E., Thomas, Willard S. and Walter W. Erdley; and sister, Dorothy V. Hankey.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Monday, April 17, 2017 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 1 PM until the time of funeral services at 2 PM on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Toy officiating.

Burial will be in Whitesburg United Methodist Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
