Margaret M. Serene

Margaret M. Serene, age 88, of Kittanning, PA., died Monday, December 26, 2016 at the Armstrong County Health Center.

She was born on May 20, 1928 in Kittanning, Armstrong Co., PA to William C. and Elizabeth (Dutton) Leinweber.

Margaret was a longtime former resident of Orr Avenue, Kittanning, and was a 1946 graduate of Kittanning High School. She worked for Dr. Opalka in Kittanning and then Dr. Furer in Freeport where she retired from in March of 2006. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

She will be deeply missed by her two daughters, Barbara E. Emminger and husband, Thomas of Kittanning, and Beverly E. Serene of Arlington, VA; four grandchildren, Thomas Emminger of Pittsburgh, Lori Payne and husband, Justin of Canfield, OH, Justin Serene and Nicholas Serene both of Arlington, VA; four great-grandchildren, Jordan and Sophia Payne, Tavie and Ryann Emminger; and one brother, William D. Leinweber and wife, Marie of Spaces Corners.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, December 29, 2016 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services 11 AM on Friday, December 30, 2016 at the funeral home with the Rev. John W. Snyder officiating.

Interment will be held at Mateer Cemetery in Boggs Twp., Armstrong Co., PA.
