Larry J. Murray
Larry J. Murray, 83, of Rimersburg, PA passed away Wednesday, February 25, 2026 at Shippenville Nursing & Rehabilitation with his family by his side.

He was born on Jan. 7, 1943 in Rimersburg, PA, the son of Ellis and Ada (Ashbaugh) Murray.
Larry was a 1961 graduate of Union High School and a lifelong resident of Rimersburg. He proudly served in the U.S. Army with the Canine Corps during the Vietnam conflict. He retired in 2012 as a logger with Kirkpatrick Logging. Larry was a lifetime member of the Rimersburg VFW Post #7132 for 54 years where he served in many positions. He was a member of the American Legion #454 previously serving as vice commander, American Legion Honor Guard, and Vice President of Veterans Park and Museum, where he served as vice president.
In his younger years, Larry enjoyed working on his family farm. He loved being outdoors, hunting and all kinds of sports. He took stats for the Union High School Football Team and was a score keeper for the Union Basketball Team for 25 years. Larry served as a district administrator for Little League Baseball and a served as District Administrator for USSSA Softball.
He was the beloved brother of Jim Murray of Clarion and Denny Murray and wife, Jackie of West Middlesex; his sister, Peggy Hilliard and friend Rich Delprincipe of Knox; and brother-in-law, Larry Henry.
Larry is also survived by nephews, Randy (Cindy) Murray of Rimersburg, Rodney (Holli) Murray of West Middlesex, Brent (Sabrina) Murray of West Middlesex, Joel (Heather) Murray of Mercer, Eric (Vicki) Mortimer of Rimersburg, Ken (Kelly) Mortimer of Rimersburg, Kevin Mortimer of Rimersburg and Ted Murray of Clarion; nieces, Cathy (Alan) Clark of Rimersburg Vicki Murray of Belle Vernon, Mike (Joni) Murray of Brookfield, Jamie Thompson and companion Jamie Rex of Venus, PA; and many great-nieces and nephews.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dean Murray and his wife, Shirley; sisters, Betty Jane Mortimer and husband Chet and Sally Henry; sister-in-law, Eva Murray; nephew, Dale Murray; and niece, Tammy Murray.
Relatives and friends will be received from 11 AM until the time of services at 1 PM on Monday, March 2, 2026 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA with Rev. Mark Deeter officiating.
Interment will follow at Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA where military honors will be presented by VFW Post 7132 and American Legion Post 454 of Rimersburg.
