Emma J. Quartz
Emma J. Quartz, 102, of Kittanning, PA, died Sunday, September 7, 2025 at the Ridge at Heritage Meadows.She was born September 2, 1923 in New Bethlehem, PA, the daughter of Michael and Mary (Sacco) Julian.
Emma was a lifelong resident of Kittanning and resided at the Ridge at Heritage Meadows for the past year. She was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe, where she belonged to the Catholic Daughters of America and the Ladies Catholic Benevolent Association. She worked as a clerk at Montgomery Ward and then worked in the clerical department at ACMH. After her retirement, you could always find Emma volunteering at ACMH and at St. Vincent DePaul. In her free time, she loved traveling all over the world and playing cards with her friends.
Her memory will be cherished by nieces and nephews, Nancy McCorkle, Kathy Bartuccio, Gary Baranec, Greg Baranec, Rose Marie Krockta and husband, Tim, Lenna Hawkins, Joy Cottrell and husband Rodger, Donna Riling and husband, Ron, Hope Julian, William "Butch" Quartz and wife, Jean, Bernie Quartz, Mark Quartz and wife Sandra, Paula DeRoy and husband, Robert, Michele Tullai and husband Mike, Chris Wilson, John "Jack" Wilson; numerous great-nieces and great-nephews; and special friends, Shirley Morrow, Patsy Leadbetter, and Paul Klacka.
Emma was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Frank Quartz, whom she married July 24, 1948 and who died January 8, 1985; brothers, Frank and wife Ruth; Tony, Constantine "Cus", and Leonard Julian and wife, Marge; and sisters, Rose Rybarick and husband Steve; and Ethel Baranec and husband Cyril; nieces Emma Wilson, Mary Jean Vacula, and Nancy Yapp; nephew James Quartz; and great niece, Colleen Wilson.
The family will receive friends from 10AM until parting prayers at 11:30 AM on Thursday, September 11, 2025 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.
A funeral mass will be held at 12PM on Thursday, September 11th at St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 101 W. High St., Kittanning, PA, with The Very Reverend Eric J. Dinga, V.F. as celebrant.
Burial will be in St. Mary Cemetery, Kittanning, PA
