Lawrence "Larry" Barger, 86, of Rimersburg, was called home to be with the Lord and walked into the arms of his loving wife on Friday, Aug. 1, 2025 at Butler Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Jan. 12, 1939 in Curlsville, PA, the son of the late Rachel (Barger) Hulings.

Larry graduated from Sligo High School in 1957. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the Rimersburg VFW Post #7132. He worked as an electrician for over 40 years with IBEW Local Union #5. He also served his community as a driver for the Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service and was an active member of the Rimersburg Hose Company, where he previously held the position of chief.

An avid outdoorsman, Larry was a member of the Rimersburg Rod and Gun Club and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time at his camp in Bluejay. In retirement, he found great joy in watching his grandchildren play sports and attending their events. Larry will be fondly remembered as a hardworking, devoted family man who deeply loved his children and grandchildren.

Larry's memory will be cherished by daughters, Lori McKinney and husband, Bill of Rimersburg, Lydi Montgomery and husband, Rob "Boomer" of Rimersburg, and Leslie Blatt of Chicora; grandchildren, Alyssa Morrison and husband, Zach of Clarion, Kelsey Cary and husband Ronnie; Kolby Montgomery, Curtis McKinney all of Rimersburg, and Gianna Blatt of Chicora; and great-grandchildren, Maverick, Memphis, and Mattis Morrison and Tatum Cary.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 59 years, Susan C. (Hiles) Barger, whom he married on Oct. 22, 1960 and who passed away on June 17, 2020 and Merton and Helen Hiles, his father and mother in-law.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Monday, Aug. 4, 2025 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Tuesday, Aug. 5, 2025 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, with Pastor Gary Guntrum officiating. Military honors will be presented by American Legion Honor Guard Post #454 and VFW Post #7132.

Interment will be in the Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA.

Memorial contributions may be made in Larry's memory to Southern Clarion County Ambulance Service, 10515 PA-68, Rimersburg, PA 16248.
