Jacob DeRae "Jake" Walter

Jacob DeRea "Jake" Walter, 75, of Clarion, PA, passed away Saturday, June 14, 2025 at UPMC Presbyterian in Pittsburgh.

He was born April 11, 1950 in Rimersburg, PA, the son of Jacob C. and Rolla W. (Swartz) Walter.

Jake was a lifelong resident of Clarion County and graduated from Union High School in 1969. For over 30 years, he was a truck driver and equipment operator for Francis J. Palo Construction until his retirement in 2012. Jake loved fishing and every year he would take a fishing charter trip in Florida. He also liked NASCAR and riding motorcycles. His greatest joy came from spending time fishing with his family and especially his great grandchildren.

His memory will be cherished by his son, Jacob E. Walter and wife, Sheri, of Clarion; daughter, Candace B. Walter Bowser and husband, Bill, of Timblin; grandchildren, Scott A. Walter (Morgan, Cayden and Maverick's mom), Jacob F. Walter (Kylee, Briella and Peyton's mom), Stephanie (Briar's mom), and Austin Shay (Nick); great-grandchildren, Briella, Peyton, Cayden, Briar, and Maverick; and his sibling, Flora Bish of Frogtown, W. Drayle Walter of North Carolina, Rita Oliver and husband, Tony, of Colorado, Maryann White of Rimersburg, Jodi Fierst and husband, Glenn, of Mayport, and James Walter of Rimersburg.

Jacob was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife, Sally Irene (Snyder) Walter who he married June 14, 1969 and whom died January 6, 2018.

Friends and family will be received from 11 AM to 1 PM and 4 PM until the time of funeral services at 6 PM on Thursday, June 19, 2025, at Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main St., Rimersburg, PA, with the Rev. John A. Milliron officiating.
