Harold F. "Flash" Farster, 93, of Kittanning, PA passed away on Monday, July 14, 2025, at Armstrong County Memorial Hospital.

He was born on Dec. 28, 1931 in Elderton, PA; the son of Lewis H. and Freda Z. (Meyer) Farster.

Harold honorably served in the U.S. Army as a sharp shooter during Korea. After serving in the Army, he was employed by various truck driving companies: Stan Schall, Sherman Trucking, Linde Aire and retired from National Mineral. He was also a member of the Teamsters Union. Harold and his wife, Lois Jane, built a life together in Elderton and they both enjoyed traveling all over the United States and in other countries. Harold enjoyed hunting deer and especially ground hogs. He had a love for motorcycles and he always owned one.

Harold will be remembered as having a quick wit and for the special nicknames he gave everyone. He will be deeply missed by his family and all that knew him.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Lois Jane (Anderson) Farster who he married in April 28, 1955; a daughter, Shirley (Farster) Stubrich and husband, Dennis, of Kittanning and son, Ronald Farster of Kittanning; grandchildren, Crystal Stewart, Tonya (Ross) Polka and husband, Jared, Donnie Farster and fiancé, Chelsea DiMaio Fetterman, Corissa (Stubrich) Roup and husband, Jake, Denten Stubrich, and adopted grandson, Robert Stubrich Stivason; great-grandchildren, Madeline Hemke, Austin Hemke, Amanda Treese and husband, Ray, Crystal Stivason, Nowah Stivason, Izyck Stivason, Elizabeth Stubrich, Ethan Stubrich, Cheyanne Roup, Cherish Roup, Charity Roup, Wrenleigh Grooms, Tommy Fetterman, Lydia Fetterman, C.J. Polka, and Trinety Polka, and great-great-grandchildren, Adam Treese, Christian Treese, and Theda Stivason.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Kathryn "Kathy" (Farster) Stewart Ross; grandsons, Derrick B. Stubrich and Denver Stubrich; a brother, Donald Farster; and a sister, Thelda (Farster) Crownover.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Thursday, July 17, 2025 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 S. Main Street, Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Friday, July 18, 2025 at the funeral home with the Rev. Alfred Kimmel officiating.

Interment will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA, where military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.
