Dorothy L. George

Dorothy L. George, 80, of Shelocta, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 16, 2024 at daughter's home in Yatesboro.

She was born on Jan. 18, 1944 in Plumcreek Township, PA; the daughter Isabelle (Boyer) Kaufman.

Dorothy was a member of the Fundamental Baptist Church of Indiana, PA. She was employed as a custodian for Armstrong School District at Elderton Elementary School from Sept. 1988 until her retirement in 2011.

Her memory will be cherished by sons, Raymond Leroy George Jr. of Clymer, Walter Clarence George of Elderton, and Jeffrey Allen George of Elderton; daughters, Lori Ann (Jim) Drylie of Shelocta, Crystal Lynn George of Yatesboro, and Susan Jayne (Martin) Stalnecker of New Castle; 17 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother; her loving husband, Raymond Leroy George, whom she married on Sept. 2, 1961 and who passed away on March 7, 2012; brothers, Floyd Allen Kaufman, Donald Charles Kaufman, and Norman Kaufman; and sisters, Valjean Betts, Evelyn Conn and Velma Ruth Shope.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc., 238 S. Main Street Elderton, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, June 20, 2024, at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA
