Richard Merle "Fletch" Smith 86, of Kittanning, PA, died Wednesday, May 17, 2023 at his home.

He was born April 9, 1937 in Smicksburg, PA, to Ira M. and Ila (Wingard) Smith.

Fletch was a member of the St. Luke's United Church of Christ and was a veteran of the U.S. Army Reserves. He was the owner and operator of R & R Truck & Auto Repair. Together with his son, he restored many garden tractors and he was a member of the Smicksburg Tractor Club. Fletch met his wife, Ruth Ann, at the Cadet and they were married May 6, 1961. He loved delivering flowers for his daughter, Kimberly, and greeting all the customers in the shop. He enjoyed ice cream and pie and was a "jack of all trades" who could fix anything. Fletch will be best remembered for his kind heart, welcoming nature, and genuine loving spirit.

His memory will be cherished by his loving wife of 62 years, Ruth Ann (Reed) Smith; son, Ricky Smith of Kittanning; daughter, Kimberly S. Suhan and fiancé, William Petras of Kittanning; grandchild, Britian Schaefer and husband, Ty; two great-grandchildren, Brady and Payton; and a brother, Thomas Smith and wife, Gail, of Creekside.

Fletch was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, James Smith.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Sunday, May 21, 2023, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Monday, May 22, 2023, at the funeral home with the Rev. Edward Walters officiating.

Burial will be in Kittanning Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.
