H. Jean (Crissman) Hutchinson

H. Jean (Crissman) Hutchinson, age 94, of Kittanning, PA, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Quality Life Services Sugarcreek.

She was born October 3, 1927 in Mosgrove, Armstrong Co., PA the oldest daughter of Ottie M. and Emma Lillian (Brink) Crissman.

Jean was a lifelong resident of the area and was a member of the First Church of God in Kittanning. She was a member of the Amaranth #126, a 50 year member of Order of the Eastern Star of Kittanning and life member of the Auxiliary of Rayburn Twp. Fire Department. Jean was the owner and operator of Hutchinson's Beauty Salon of State Rt. 85, Sunnyside, in Kittanning from 1961 until her retirement in 2005, and she enjoyed working with people and creating new hair styles. She liked golfing and traveling in the winters with her husband, family and friends to Arizona and Florida. Jean also baked bread and shared it with family and friends. In her later years, with encouragement from her grandson Jason, she became a fan of the Pittsburgh Penguins, Pittsburgh Pirates and Pittsburgh Steelers. Family was paramount in her life; she loved them with all her heart and they will always remember her caring and selfless nature.

She is survived by her son, Thomas D. Hutchinson and wife, Linda, of Kittanning; daughter, Hope Waltenbaugh and husband, James, of Kittanning; grandchildren, John Hutchinson and Sherry Hutchinson, Jennifer Hutchinson and husband Brian McCall, Julie Julius and husband, Josh, Dr. Adriann Hooks and husband, Chris, and Jason Waltenbaugh and wife, Nicole; great-grandchildren; Hunter, Xavier, Stephaney, Kash, Teddy, Maddy, Anderson, and Emmett; sisters; Alice R. Bish, of Indiana, PA, and Nancy E. Ray and husband, Donald, of Poland, Ohio; and brother-in-law, Earl Smith of Butler.

She was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband of 59 years, Thomas W. Hutchinson, who passed away July 12, 2006; infant son, Bobby Hutchinson; brothers; David F., Clarence E., Shelby M., Charles A., William J., and James A. Crissman; sisters, Shirley A. "Peg" Smith and Joan E. Profitt.

Friends will be received from 2-4 & 6-8 PM on Friday, May 6, 2022 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA. where an Order of the Easter Star service will be held at 6 PM.

Additional visitation will be held form 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday May 7, 2022 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc. with the Rev. Nick Wilson and Rev. Melissa Daniel co-officiating.

Interment will be in the Kittanning Cemetery, Rayburn Twp., Armstrong Co., PA.
