Larry D. Cogley

Larry D. Cogley, 75, of Kittanning passed away on Sunday, Dec. 26, 2021, at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital.

He was born on May 2, 1946, to Blair E. and F. Ilene (Neal) Cogley in Dayton, PA.

Larry was a 1964 graduate of Shannock Valley High School and then honorably served in the Vietnam War ranking as a Sergeant E-5 in the U.S. Army. He worked as a Job Coach Supervisor for Family Services of Western Pennsylvania. Larry was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church where he served as Elder and was very active in the Warmth of Grace and the Food Bank. Traveling was one of Larry's favorite things along with reading, walking outdoors, NASCAR, and watching the Pittsburgh Penguins. His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family and lending a helping hand to those in need.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Beverly (Buchanan) Cogley whom he married on April, 20, 1968; a daughter, Jennifer L. Ross and her husband, Jim, of Oakdale, PA; a grandson, Hunter Ross; three sisters, Gloria L. Hischuck of Yatesboro, PA, Donna J. Wood of Canton, OH, and Carole S. Klink and husband, Alan, of Crestview, FL.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Keith Cogley.

Relatives and friends will be received on Thursday, Dec. 30, 2021 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. at Grace Presbyterian Church, 155 N. Jefferson St. Kittanning, PA 16201.

Additional visitation will be held from 10:00 am until the time of the service at 11:00 am at Grace Presbyterian Church on Friday, Dec. 31, 2021 with Rev. Robert F. Hindman officiating. Military honors will be conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.

Interment will be in Salem United Church of Christ Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.

Due to current regulations, all social distancing guidelines will be followed. Guests are respectfully asked to wear a mask or face covering.

Memorial contributions may be made in Larry's honor to the Grace Presbyterian Church.
