Donald M. Summerville

Donald M. Summerville, 72, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, February 12, 2019 at Allegheny General Hospital.

He was born February 6, 1947 in Toby Twp., Clarion Co., PA, the son of Donald F. and Lucinda "Lucy" E. (Cowell) Summerville.

Don was a lifelong resident of Clarion County and graduated from Union High School in 1965. He honorably served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He previously worked for Rosebud Mining and Pullman Standard in Butler, and also spent 12 years as a maintenance contractor for the housing authority. Most recently Don was self-employed as a carpenter, retiring in 2007.

He was a member of Rimersburg American Legion Post #454 and was a life member of Rimersburg VFW Post #7132. Don enjoyed line dancing and belonged to the Country Steps Line Dancing Club. He also looked forward to traveling to Florida during the winter months.

His memory will be cherished by his son, Brian S. "Scott" Summerville and wife, Shelly, of Rimersburg; grandson, Dylan Summerville; step-grandchildren, Kurtis McNaughton and wife, Sherri, and Karli Morris and husband, Jay; five step-great-grandchildren; companion, Billie Sue Weaver; brother, Milo H. Summerville and wife, Betty, of Coos Bay, OR; sisters, Alice Stitt, of Rimersburg, Phyllis Hetrick and husband, Tom, of Erie, and Ellen Newman, of Marion, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Don was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Darl Summerville; and sister, Lois Hawk.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 6-8 PM on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Deeter officiating.

Burial will be in Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, PA, where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Post #454 and VFW Post #7132.
