Velma I. Miller

Velma I. Miller, 84, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Sunday, December 17, 2017 at Kittanning Care Center.

She was born March 31, 1933 in Dayton, PA, the daughter of Alvie Myron and Lucetta Mae (Brocious) Troup.

Velma was a lifelong resident of Armstrong County and graduated from Dayton High School. Her life's calling was caring for her home and family, and in her free time she enjoyed cooking and canning. Velma was a gifted pianist and organist, and played the organ at her former churches. She attended Wildcat Wesleyan Methodist Church and had fond memories of traveling with her family and fishing in Canada. Velma will be best remembered for being a wonderful wife and mother and the deep love she had for her family.

She will be greatly missed by her sons, Ronald E. Miller and wife, Rebecca, of Dayton, PA, Luis Miller and wife, Debbie, of Worthington, Larry Miller and wife, Joyce, of New Bethlehem, and David Miller and wife, Katie, of Worthington; daughter, Vel Hofmann and husband, Larry, of Ray, ND; grandchildren, Sharon Miller, Marsha Buzzard and husband, Terry, Marilan Young and husband, Eric, Luis Miller, Susan Ballock and husband, Denny, Angie Plucinski and husband, Ryan, Kelly Clyde and husband, Gabe, Arielle Gallaher, David Miller and Derrick Miller; brother, N. P. Troup, of West Sunbury; twin sister, Thelma I. Keeling, of Hadley, PA; and Pearl M. Kaufman, of Salem, OH.

Velma was predeceased by her parents; loving husband, Luis A. Miller, Sr., whom she married March 31, 1951 and who died September 25, 2004; grandson, Larry Miller; brothers, Herbert, Alvie Jr., Donald, Duane, Ray and Gary Troup; and sister, Catherine Arbel.

The family will receive friends from 6-8 PM on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at the funeral home, 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning, PA, with the Rev. Mark Deeter officiating.

Burial will be in Worthington Presbyterian Cemetery, Worthington, Pennsylvania.
