Nevin C. Rupert

Nevin C. Rupert, 89, of Kittanning, PA,formerly of Girty, passed away Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.

He was born September 25, 1927 in Armstrong County, PA, the son of Walter Charles Rupert and Ethel Fern (Stubrick) Rupert.

Nevin honorably served in the US Navy during World War II and was a member of Mt. Union Lutheran Church. He formerly worked in the trucking industry and most recently was the owner of K. L. N. G. Enterprises, Inc. Nevin was also the tax collector for South Bend Twp. for 29 years. In his younger years, Nevin loved playing sports, with his favorite being basketball. He cherished the time spent with his family and especially enjoyed playing cards with them.

He will be remembered with love by his sons, Nevin Linwood Rupert and wife, Angie, and Kevin C. Rupert and wife, Debbie, daughter, Glenda Rupert, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, Eleanor Christy.

Nevin was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Genevieve A. (Uplinger) Rupert, whom he married May 24, 1946 and who died August 20, 2009; and brothers, Glenn and Leroy Rupert; granddaughter, Danette Liffy Cockroft and son-in-law Michael Mester.

At Nevin's request, services will be private.
