Fern C. Blair

Fern C. Blair, 91, of Shippenville, PA passed away Sunday, February 19, 2017, at Shippenville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

She was born on June 28, 1925 in Rimersburg, PA, the daughter of Roy and Pauline (Simpson) Seybert.

Fern was a lifetime resident of the area and a member of the Reformed Presbyterian Church of Rimersburg. She devoted her life to caring for her family and enjoyed cooking. Fern liked flowers and enjoyed working alongside her husband in their beautiful gardens.

She will be deeply missed by sons, John Blair and Stephanie, of Seneca, and Terry Blair and wife, Carme, of Clarion; daughters, Patricia Schrecengost and husband, Terry, of Distant, Mary Reitz and husband, Terry, of Sligo, and Susan McElhattan and husband, Terry, of Clarion; daughter-in-law, Reda Blair, of Curllsville; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

Fern was preceded in death by her parents; loving husband, Wilbur R. Blair, whom she married September 5, 1946 and who died December 17, 2013; son, Davey Blair; two grandchildren; brothers, Leland "Bud" Seybert and Robert Seybert; and sisters, Berlin Morris and Jean Wiser.

Family and friends will be received from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Wednesday, February 22, 2017, at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main St., Rimersburg, with the Rev. John W. Monger officiating.

Burial will be in Herman Cemetery, New Bethlehem, PA.
