Violet R. Selva

Violet R. Selva, 102, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 29, 2016 at Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.

She was born February 4, 1914, in Conifer, PA, the daughter of Joseph and Gertrude (Monti) Rugini

Violet graduated from Massillon High School in Ohio in 1932 and lived in Kittanning for most of her life. She was a member of St. Mary, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church and the Catholic Daughters of America. In 1982, Violet retired as a caseworker supervisor from the Pennsylvania Department of Public Welfare office in Kittanning and received a certificate and pin recognition for her 40 years of service. She was also given a certificate and pin recognition for the 42 years she worked as the secretary for Applewold borough, and served for 15 years on the Applewold Borough Council.

Her memory will be cherished by her daughter, Nancy J. Campbell, of Ford City; granddaughter, Amy Campbell and husband, James Edwards, of Pittsburgh; two great-grandchildren, Julian Edwards and Evangeline Edwards; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Mary Brown and Inez Sarachene; a brother, Domenic Rugini; and sister-in-law, Ruby Rugini.

At Violet's request, services will be private.

Burial will be in Lawn Haven Burial Estates, Worthington, PA.
