Jason W. Sharrer, 46, of Templeton, PA, died unexpectedly on Monday, November 23, 2015 in Cumming, Georgia.

He was born June 12, 1969, in Kittanning, the son of James M. Sharrer and Barbara (Nolf) Anderson.

Jason graduated from Dayton High School in 1987 and then joined the U.S. Navy and served in Operation Desert Storm during the Gulf War where he was aboard the "USS Preble". During the time he served, Jason was awarded many medals which are the Coast Guard Special Operations Ribbon, Kuwait Liberation Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Humanitarian Medal, Southeast Asia Campaign Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Good Conduct Award, Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, and the Joint Meritorious Unit Award. After returning home from the service, he worked for Raytheon as project manager. His favorite hobby was riding and working on motorcycles and snowmobiles or anything with a motor. Jason was a proud member of the Harley Davison "HOG" Chapter and the "AMA". He also enjoyed traveling, reading, and all things associated with Star Wars. His family was important to him and he loved hunting in Medix Run. Jason will best be remembered for his sarcasm and wit, and will deeply be missed by all those that knew him.

He leaves behind to cherish his memory his father, James M. Sharrer of Punxsutawney, and mother Barbara Anderson and husband, Edward of Templeton; a son, Dominic Sharrer of Harrisville, PA; former wife, friend, and Dominic's mother, Michele Anderson of Union City; two sisters, Kimberly Johnston and husband, David of Punxsutawney, and Kathleen Clawson and husband, Roger of Templeton; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Jason was preceded in death by his step-mother, Barbara (Ruffner) Sharrer.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, November 27, 2015, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 515 N McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2015, at the funeral home followed with military honors conducted by the American Legion Honor Guard.
