Thomas Alexander McCune, 72, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Monday, October 5, 2015 at the Armstrong County Health Center.

He was born October 11, 1942 in Latrobe, PA, the son of Calvin A. and Emily P. (Klingensmith) McCune.

Tom honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He had a bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University and had a successful career as a landscape architect in the Washington, DC area. Tom loved the outdoors and spent much of his time hunting, hiking, fishing, and growing a vegetable garden. He was an outstanding cook and took great pleasure in preparing meals for his family and friends. Tom was known for having a quick wit and was always up for a good joke. He was a sensitive man who wasn't afraid to show his emotions to his daughters and grandchildren.

He will be greatly missed by his daughters, Tammy Audra Ferro, of LaVerne, CA, and Jodie Alexis Allen, of Leesburg, VA; four grandchildren, Alexa Ferro, and Emma, Olivia, and Lucas Allen; brothers, Richard B. McCune, of Lititz, PA, and Calvin N. McCune, of Hollidaysburg, PA; and sister, Mary Louise Settle, of Hendersonville, TN.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents.

A memorial service will held at 3:00 P.M. on Sunday, November 22, 2015 at Unity Cemetery Chapel, 114 Chapel Lane, Latrobe, PA 15650. A small reception will follow.

Burial will be in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe, PA.
