Kenneth C. Bauer, Jr.

Kenneth C. Bauer, Jr., 74, of Kittanning, PA, passed away Wednesday, September 30, 2015 at ACMH Hospital.

He was born May 7, 1941 in Kittanning to Kenneth C. Bauer, Sr. and Belle Irene (Henry) Bauer.

Ken was a life-long resident of Kittanning and graduated from Kittanning High School in 1959. He was the maintenance foreman at The Bauer Block Company, which was started by his grandfather, Christian Bauer, and went on to become a family business. Ken was a former member of Kittanning Hose Company #4 and the Kittanning Men's Club, where he served as president. In his younger years, his favorite hobbies were bowling, hunting and fishing. Ken also loved camping and boating, and had a special place in his heart for his favorite dogs, Skip, and cat, Tigger.

Ken's memory will be cherished by his loving wife, Sandra Lee (Sgarlata) Bauer, whom he married in June of 1962; sons, Kenneth C. Bauer, III and wife, Sharon, of Kittanning, Michael R. Bauer and wife, Sharon, of Ford City, and Keith W. Bauer, of Ford City; daughter, Karen Schuey and husband, David, of Kittanning; grandchildren, Chase Bauer, Ty Bauer, Kassandra Bauer, Kiersten Bauer, Zack Schuey and Sarah Marks and husband, Jason; and great-grandchildren, Morgan Schuey, Ezra Schuey and Piper Marks.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William and Robert Bauer; and sister, Betty Lou Schrecengost.

Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Friday, October 2, 2015, at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean Street, Kittanning, PA.

A blessing service will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, October 3, 2015 at the funeral home, with the Reverend Douglas E. Dorula officiating.

Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Kittanning, PA.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Ken's honor to the Kittanning Hose Company #6 EMS, 108 Mulberry St., Kittanning, PA 16201.
