Homer A. Rupp, 93, of Kittanning, PA passed away Sunday, February 8, 2015 at Kittanning Care Center surrounded by his family.

He was born May 2, 1921 in Dayton, PA, the son of Homer W. and Rosa Bertha Ellen (Zimmerman) Rupp.

Homer lived in the Kittanning area most of his life and served as a staff sergeant in the US Army Air Corps during World War II. He married Lula C. (Bargerstock) Rupp on December 17, 1949 and was a member of Goheenville Presbyterian Church. Homer worked as a heavy equipment operator for L & E Coal Company for 30 years until his retirement in 1982. He loved spending his free time with friends and family, fishing, hunting and woodworking.

He will be greatly missed by his loving wife, Lula Rupp; daughters, Sandra R. Anthony, Deloris R. Gearhart and husband, Gary, and Donna M. Hoover and husband, Paul, all of Kittanning; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; seven step-great-grandchildren; and sister, Lucille Sloan.

Homer was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, William P. Rupp; brothers, Waldo Rupp and Kenneth Rupp; sisters, Mildred Wells, Dorothea Semanovich, Ruth Walker, Hazel Prugh and Nelda Sloan; and step-grandson, Daniel Gearhart.

Friends and family will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 PM on Wednesday, February 11, 2015, at Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning.

Additional visitation will be held from 10 AM until the time of funeral services at 11 AM on Thursday, February 12, 2015, with Rev. John W. Snyder officiating.

Burial will be in Concord Cemetery, Dayton, PA, where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.
