Josephine Frederick

Josephine "Jo" Ellen Frederick, 70, of Rimersburg, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at her home.

She was born January 28, 1944 in Los Angeles, CA, the daughter of Joseph and Alvena (Dehn) Rickards.

Jo was a resident of Rimersburg for the last two years and previously lived in Tylersburg for over 30 years. She retired from the US Postal Service in 2006, where she worked as a postal clerk for the Clarion and Tionesta post offices. Jo was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Crown and in her free time enjoyed reading, especially Christian novels and Civil War books. Playing bingo and attending different types of sporting events were other favorite activities of hers and she also collected teddy bears and Boyds Bears. Family was important to Jo and she shared a very special bond with her granddaughter, Courtney. Jo's family will always remember her kind but strong-willed spirit.

She will be deeply missed by her son, Bret Frederick and companion, Natasia Miller, of Marble; daughter, Tisha Frederick, of Rimersburg; grandchildren, Courtney Frederick, Michaela Lencer, Myshelle Failes, Erica Ford, Cole Frederick, Myah Miller and Montgomery Frederick; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Madeline; brother, Wallace Rickards and wife, Patsy, of Tucson, AZ; and sister, Diana Bird and husband, Robert, of Cleveland NM.

Jo was preceded in death by her parents.

Family and friends will be received from 6-9 PM on Monday, October 27, 2014 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home, 758 Main St., Rimersburg.

Additional visitation will be from 9 AM until the time of funeral services at 10 AM on Tuesday, October 28, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Robert Bird officiating.
