Wendell B. Davis, of South Bend Twp., died Sunday, April 6, 2014 at the Kittanning Care Center.

He was born March 17, 1924, Wehram, Indiana Co., PA the son of Harold H. and Mary Ann (Fyock) Davis.

Wendell honorably served his country in the Navy during WW II and is a proud member of the American Legion. After returning from the war he was employed as a machinist for PPG Industries retiring after 32 years of service. In 1959 he built the family home in South Bend Twp., where they still reside today. Wendell is a talented musician who played the guitar, piano, violin and banjo; just to name a few of his favorites. He loved to ride Harley Davidson motorcycles and will be remembered as being a helper to everyone and for his wonderful sense of humor.

He will be deeply missed by his loving wife of 63 years, Phillis B. (Wells) Davis, whom he married on June 17, 1950; son, Alan D. Davis and wife, Linda, of South Bend, Twp.; daughters, Suzie Davis of Ford City and Mary Ann Broad of Evans City, PA, sister, Gail Blackburn and husband Hugh of Slippery Rock, PA; grandchildren, Shonda Davis Howes, Kerri Davis, Carly Flick, Bryan Broad and great-grandchildren Jason Barker and Jeffrey Wolfe.

Wendell was preceded in death by his parents; son, Wendell B. Davis, Jr., who died in 1997, sister, Faye Sheasley, brothers, Evan A. and Dean Davis and his son-in-law Robert W. Broad who died in 2012.

The family will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, 238 South Main Street, Elderton, PA 15736.

Additional visitation will be from 10 AM until the time of the funeral service at 11 AM on Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at the funeral home with the Rev. Joyce Dix-Weiers officiating.

Burial will be held in Elderton Cemetery, Elderton, PA, where military honors will be presented by the American Legion Honor Guard.

Arrangements are being handled by the Clark Chapel of the Bauer Funeral Home, Inc.
