Kenneth M. Hooks, Jr.

Kenneth M. Hooks, Jr., 57, of Adrian, PA, died Saturday, May 11, 2013 at the Armstrong County Health Center.

Ken was born February 18, 1956, in Kittanning, a son of the late Kenneth M. and Mildred Smith Hooks, Sr.

Ken was a 1974 graduate of East Brady High School. He was employed for 10 years at Creekside Mushrooms, Ltd. as a picker and group leader. Ken was loved by his co-workers who affectionately called him "Kenny Wayne". An avid outdoorsman and NRA member, Ken enjoyed camping, fishing and rooting for the Penguins and Steelers. Music was a lifelong passion of Ken's, he played all brass and woodwind instruments with saxophone being his favorite. There was nothing more precious to Ken than his family, especially his granddaughters, who were the light of his life.

His memory will be carried on with love by his wife, Katherine "Kathy" Hooks, whom he married July 2, 1988; his son, Kenneth M. Hooks and his wife Breanna of Cowansville; two daughters, Sheena L. Bowser and her husband Benjamin of Chicora, and Christina Hooks of Adrian; brother, Michael Hooks and his wife Nancy of Adrian; sister, Susan Myers and husband Joseph of Kittanning; beloved granddaughters, Aleyah and Brooklynn Hooks; aunt, Joanne Potkalitsky of Kittanning; also aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends will be received from 2-4PM and 7-9 PM on Tuesday, May 14, 2013 and from 10AM until the time of the funeral services at 11AM Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at the Bauer Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Inc., 515 N. McKean St., Kittanning. Rev. Steven Kromer will officiate.

Interment will follow in John Cemetery, Washington Twp.
