Irene C Richardson

Irene C. (Stuchell) Richardson, age 88, of Shelocta, Plumcreek Twp., PA., died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Indiana Regional Medical Center.

She was born in Indiana, Indiana County, PA on April 18, 1924 to Merle L. and Daisy (Kunkle) Stuchell.

Irene was previously employed by Montgomery Ward and Reffer's Restaurant. She was a member of the Elderton Presbyterian Church and the Women's Auxiliary of the Elderton VFD. She and her husband were owners of Richardson's Trailer Court, and she spent the majority of her life as a homemaker.

Irene enjoyed playing golf, bingo, fishing in Canada and Alaska, and the very special "girls day out" every Saturday with her mother and sisters. Irene and Craig spent many winters in Fort Myers, FL.

Anyone who spend just five minutes in conversation with Irene would know that her most prized treasure in life was her family, especially those beloved great grandchildren!

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John Craig Richardson whom she married April 12, 1945; three sons, John M. Richardson Elderton, PA, Roger A. Richardson and his wife Linda of Elderton, PA, and David E. Richardson and his wife Kathy of Shelocta, PA; six grandchildren, Kelly McClafferty and husband Michael, Jason Richardson and wife Angela, Brandon Richardson, Krista Johnston and husband Michael, and Joshua and Jared Richardson; 6 great-grandchildren, Marissa and Kolton McClafferty, Laney and Grant Johnston, and Dane, and Eli Richardson; and a sister, Betty Kimmel.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Dorothy Walls.

At Irene's request, services will be private.

A memorial service celebrating Irene's life will be held at a later date.
