Maxine Ruffner

Maxine Ruffner, age 93, of Dubois, PA passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Clarion Hospital.

She was born on November 8, 1918 in Madison Twp., Clarion Co., PA, the daughter of Gertrude Carnahan.

Maxine grew up in the Rimersburg area and was a member of Rimersburg United Methodist Church. Though she called Western Pennsylvania home, she spent time in Jessup, MD and enjoyed attending Wesley Grove United Methodist Church. When thinking of her, friends and family will remember her beautiful paintings of landscapes, seascapes and flowers. They will also not forget her love for music and ballroom dancing; but her main love was the Lord and her family.

She will be deeply missed by her sons, Paul Ruffner and wife Ruby of Rimersburg, and William "Bill" Ruffner and wife Linda of Dubois; daughters, Elaine Bish of Myrtle Beach, SC, and Patricia Lynn Riggins of Glen Burnie, MD; grandchildren, Robert, Edward, Sheila, Rory, Lauren, Jill, and Paul; great-grandchildren, Adam, Tyler, Beth, Colleen, Angela, and Rachael; great-great-grandson, Wyatt; sisters, Helen Rickard of Tavares, FL, and Ruth McCafferty of Rimersburg; and sister-in-law, Arlene "Scoot" Elder of Big Bear, CA.

Maxine was preceded in death by her husband of 37 years whom she married June 19, 1934, Paul C. Ruffner, who died March 9, 1972; mother; step-father, William Elder; and brother, Delbert Elder.

Relatives and friends will be received from 4-8PM on Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at the Bauer-Hillis Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 758 Main Street, Rimersburg, PA,

Funeral services will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the funeral home with the Rev. Randy Evans, Clarion Forest Hospice Chaplain, officiating.

Burial will follow at Rimersburg Cemetery, Rimersburg, Clarion Co., PA.
